Golf Simulator Room & Placement Index
This index compares the geometry that determines whether a launch monitor or enclosure can work in a real room: mounting height, monitor-to-ball position, screen-to-ball distance, room width/depth guidance, enclosure dimensions and hitting-area requirements.
8
Launch-monitor and enclosure records with direct manufacturer sources.
1
Models where ceiling height and mounting geometry are primary constraints.
3
Actual outer dimensions and viewable screen dimensions where published.
Source-backed comparison table
| Brand / model | Type | Physical dimensions | Placement | Room guidance | Hitting area / screen | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Uneekor EYE XO | Overhead camera launch monitor | 2.5 H × 30.5 W × 6.0 L in; 12 lb | Mount 3.5 ft in front of tee; sensor height 9–10 ft; product page lists 10 ft optimal | Uneekor recommends at least 13 ft room width for full driver swings; 15 ft for golfers 6 ft+; screen-to-tee recommended 12 ft, minimum 10 ft may suffice | 16 L × 12 W in | Uneekor product page |
| Uneekor EYE MINI | Portable camera launch monitor | 15.8 H × 6.5 W × 6.6 L in | Floor/side-mounted portable unit; use current Uneekor setup guidance for hitting-area placement | Room swing clearance depends on golfer; Uneekor general setup guidance recommends 13 ft width, 15 ft for golfers 6 ft+ | See current product/setup guidance | Uneekor product page |
| Garmin Approach R10 | Radar launch monitor | Portable tripod-mounted unit | 6–8 ft behind ball indoors; ball at least 8 ft from net/screen; 2 × 2 ft hitting area begins 6 ft from monitor | Garmin support lists minimum indoor space 15 ft long × 8 ft wide × 8 ft high | At least 2 × 2 ft mat/hitting space | Garmin support |
| Garmin Approach R50 | Camera launch monitor / simulator display | Portable floor unit | Approximately 1.5 ft to side of tee; face tee; approximately same height as tee | Garmin requires adequate ceiling height and full swing clearance; no universal room dimensions in current placement manual | At least 2 × 2 ft hitting space per current support guidance | Garmin R50 manual |
| SKYTRAK SKYTRAK+ | Photometric + radar launch monitor | See current SKYTRAK technical specification page | Designed to minimize space needed behind tee; use current product/setup guidance | Current product page lists studio options: 8 ft W × 7 ft 5 in H × 4 ft D; 10 ft W × 8 ft 6 in H × 5 ft 4 in D; 12 ft W × 8 ft 6 in H × 5 ft 4 in D; 13 ft W × 10 ft H × 10 ft D | Side-of-ball launch-monitor setup | SKYTRAK product page |

Why this data matters
Two launch monitors at similar prices can impose completely different room requirements. Radar systems may need several feet behind the ball. Side-camera systems can reduce rear depth but use lateral space. Overhead systems clear the floor but can require a specific ceiling and mount height.
Likewise, an enclosure's nominal listing size may not equal its actual outside frame dimensions. Room planning should use published outer dimensions plus any manufacturer-required rear buffer.
