Room fit
Golf Simulator Room Depth Guide
Room depth is the sum of screen buffer, screen-to-ball distance, launch-monitor placement and safe space behind the golfer.
Quick checks
- Radar units can add 6–8 ft behind the ball.
- Screen-to-ball distance often runs around 10–12 ft.
- Rear screen buffer is not optional on many enclosures.
Radar systems are usually depth-hungry
Garmin R10 requires 6–8 feet behind the ball and at least 8 feet from ball to net/screen, so total depth grows quickly.
Camera systems trade depth for lateral or overhead placement
Side-mounted and overhead systems can reduce rear depth needs but may increase width or ceiling requirements.
How we use specifications
GolfSimulatorVerdicts treats room size, mounting height and placement as compatibility constraints rather than quality scores. Current manufacturer documentation controls exact installation.
